Bellingham Technical College Foundation

Bellingham Technical College has been committed to helping students achieve their educational goals for over 45 years. Eighty-nine percent of its recent graduates report being employed - over three quarters in fields directly related to the programs they completed at BTC - the highest employment rate among the state's five technical colleges.

BTC is both a "first choice" for high school graduates launching into professional technical careers, and a "second chance" for dislocated workers retraining for high-demand jobs that meet community and employment needs. However, the cost of sustaining excellence in job training and professional technical education is high, and declining legislative funding is not enough to ensure student success.

Bellingham Technical College Foundation was founded in 1987 to develop resources for the programs, needs and enhancements at the College. Private funding - through student scholarships and emergency funds - bridges the gap, and helps students' dreams come true. Thanks to generous private donations, last year the BTC Foundation provided over $50,000 in student scholarships, $6,000 for faculty and staff professional development, $42,000 in program grants, over $200,000 worth of equipment for twelve programs, and enhanced its endowment by $38,000. Every dollar given stays in Whatcom County to help local citizens, and less than 1 percent of the BTC Foundation's budget is used for administrative expenses.

Gifts to Bellingham Technical College Foundation are not only an investment in education, but an investment in community development as well. By helping the College achieve its mission to create a high quality workforce through educational excellence and student success, the BTC Foundation is helping create the professionally educated workforce that is the basis for the community's economic vitality. Please help the BTC Foundation support the students, faculty and programs of Bellingham Technical College for a prosperous future in Whatcom County.
