Proudly meeting the reproductive healthcare needs of women, men, and teens in northwest Washington since 1969, Mt. Baker Planned Parenthood works to assure that affordable family planning services, age-specific sexuality education programs, and strong advocacy for reproductive rights makes a positive difference in our communities.
More than 100,000 women, men and teens have utilized MBPP's services through its network of three reproductive healthcare clinics in Whatcom, Skagit, and San Juan counties. Last year, 9,000 women, teens and men used family planning services. The education department staff reached more than 3,100 individuals through a variety of programs, including puberty education programs for parents and youth, contraceptive methods and decision-making presentations in schools, and sexuality issues and responsibility messages in juvenile detention centers.
Public affairs staff maintain a presence in Olympia to assure that access to reproductive healthcare services will not be restricted or eroded. In 1999, with the generous support of donors, MBPP opened Mt. Baker Family Medicine, a full-service family practice. Designed to assure that clients have access to affordable health care for themselves and their families, this self-sustaining clinic charges on a sliding scale, accepts Medicaid and Medicare, and bills over 175 health plans. Now MBPP is able to provide the services its clients have repeatedly requested, in-house. This is a first-rate agency where you can help make a difference.
