The "baby boom" generation is now often called the "sandwich" generation because they often care for both children and aging parents. Given the fact that most people prefer to be cared for at home, Visiting Nurse Personal Services (VNPS), offers a lifeline to familes searching for help.
VNPS employs over 200 people and is the preferred provider for home care in Northwest Washington. Because its focus is on service rather than profits, VNPS devotes most of its resources to caring for low-income elderly and disabled people receiving state-sponsored, in-home care services.
Founded in 1984, Visiting Nurse Personal Services is the primary home care provider in Whatcom, Skagit, Island and San Juan counties. Each person's special needs, ability and home environment are assessed and clients are carefully matched with staff to assist in their activities of daily living. VNPS provides nursing care management, private duty nursing, personal care aides, bathing assistance, immunizations and flu clinics, nail care, HealthWatch (personal emergency response system), and bill management. VNPS also provided 10,000 hours of clinical nursing services for Whatcom County jail inmates in 2001.
True to its mission to offer the highest quality of home care and community services to support individuals' health and wellness needs, Visiting Nurse Personal Services works every day to help people attain their optimal level of independence and quality of life - in the comfort of home. VNPS is licensed, insured and experienced in providing the kind of personalized care so important to families throughout the region.
Your financial support will help Visiting Nurse Personal Services bridge the gap in state reimbursement and continue to provide loving care to frail, vulnerable, disabled, and elderly people in their own homes.
